Customers' Day: Boost Your Sales with These Actionable Insights

Did you know that on September 15th we celebrate Customer Day? This date was created in 2003 by businessman João Carlos Rego with an incredible objective: to honor and thank all customers, as well as further strengthening the relationship between retailers and consumers. Since then, this day has become extremely important for Brazilian retail. And believe me, according to a survey carried out by Neotrust, in 2022 Customer Day revenue in Brazil reached an astonishing mark of R$20 billion! This incredible data was collected by 300 Brazilian retail companies and covers sales made in the period from September 15th to 18th, 2022.

With all this potential in mind, in this article we will give you some super cool tips to boost your sales on Customer Day.

1. Encourage interaction with customers

Encouraging interaction with customers is essential to creating an environment of engagement and loyalty. Here are some strategies to achieve this goal:

  • Social Networks and Online Engagement: Utilize social media platforms to create polls, contests, and interactive posts that encourage customers to participate and share their opinions. Responding promptly to comments and direct messages is also crucial to showing that you value the interaction.

Idea for an interactive post and creation of a poll for a semi-jewelry retailer on Customer Day:

Create a poll on Instagram, but before creating it, post a story saying that you are going to do a giveaway for Customer Day and would like your customers' opinions on which jewelry they want you to give away. In the next story, show the pieces you want to draw and, in the last one, place the poll to select one of the options.

This type of action generates engagement, bringing your brand closer to more people who could possibly become customers. Furthermore, it's a way of identifying the tastes of those who follow you, which will help you show pieces that are more in line with your audience.

  • Events and Workshops: Organize events, workshops and webinars related to your customers' interests. This not only provides valuable knowledge but also promotes interaction and exchange of ideas among participants.

Here at gas, we do this with our resellers. We are always offering valuable content about semi-jewelry, entrepreneurship and subjects related to personal and professional development, to collaborate with the growth of all of them.

Loyalty programs: Implement loyalty programs that reward customers for repeat purchases and interactions, such as points or exclusive discounts.

Here at Gazin, for example, we work with the accumulation of points for our franchisees. See an article about one of our franchisees who accumulated points and exchanged them for a trip with her family by clicking here.

2. Offer offers and freebies

Offers and giveaways are effective ways to attract customers' attention and encourage them to make purchases.

  • Special discounts: Offer exclusive discounts to customers on popular products or all of your merchandise during the Customer Day period.
  • Buy one, get one: Implement “buy one, get one” promotions to encourage larger purchases or to introduce new products.
  • Freebies: Offer gifts with purchases over a certain amount. This not only adds value to the purchase but also leaves a positive impression.

A tip for those who resell semi-jewelry is: think about offering a gift to anyone who buys a set of semi-jewelry. This gift can be an earring or ring that matches what your customer purchased.

3. Carry out targeted communications

Communicating in a targeted way helps create a closer connection with customers.

  • Customer segmentation: Divide your customer base into segments based on interests, purchase history or preferences. This allows you to send more relevant and personalized messages.

If you resell your jewelry via WhatsApp, a tip is to use the broadcast list and separate them by types of products that your customers like most. For example:

Broadcast list for those who love to always be up to date with trends: put on the list those who like to buy your semi-jewelry that are new and fashion trends, or for those who love outfits.

  • Personalized emails: Send emails with specific offers and information for each customer segment. Use the customer's name and personalized recommendations whenever possible. If you want to know more about this strategy, read our article on email marketing, by clicking here.

4. Simplify the payment process

Making the payment process easier is crucial to improving the customer experience. Here are some ways to simplify this step:

  • Diversified Payment Options: Offer multiple payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, and more, to accommodate individual customer preferences.
  • Clear information: Provide clear information about pricing, shipping rates, and return policies before checkout to avoid unpleasant surprises.

5. Provide personalized service

Personalized service creates a memorable experience and demonstrates care for customers.

  • Customer History Record: Keep a record of past customer interactions to understand their individual preferences and needs.
  • Multichannel service: Be available across multiple communication channels like live chat, phone, and social media so customers can choose how to get in touch.
  • Efficient troubleshooting: Train your team to resolve problems effectively and empathetically, seeking quick solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
